I know we all need a bit of a break now and then, and I’m sure you all love the commercials in the Superbowl almost as much as the actual game.

Well, The Saints did it last night – congrats to them.  Hard luck Indy, but what we are left with are  the hilarious ads that companies spend millions on for those precious few minutes (or seconds?)…

So I thought you’d like to take a breather from your intense workouts and enjoy all the ads in one place.

So here you go, enjoy:

Welcome from Greg Carbone – Newest Maverick Fitness Coach!

Hey Guys-It’s Greg Carbone with a quick introduction post for my buddy Tristan – (before I get into the real important body transformation stuff).  Now I am not sure what I can offer that this guy can’t, besides maybe some good looks and my witty charm.  No…in all seriousness….I AM charming.

So, when Tristan asked me to be an expert on his website, I was truly honored.  It was especially shocking since the last time I saw him I was headed back to my room from the bar where Tristan, Sam, Rob and I drank this crazy concoction called Patron.  I figured it must be some upscale version of Perrier.   Looked like water to me, and since I know water is good for you, I decided to drink as much as I could.  Besides, the cheapasses at the Hilton bar just kept giving us these tiny little glasses full and expected us to drink them in one quick shot. (Normally I am 200% on top of my nutritional requirements - but we are all allowed nights off!)

I started to feel very weird for a while as my vision got very cloudy and Tristan and Sam started saying made up words like “mate”, “bollocks”, “knickers”, “Bobs your Uncle” and all types of other crazy shit.   Then I started seeing a bunch of dudes dressed up in blouses, tight pants and eyeliner.  They were talking with Tristan and making him do pushups and flex as they smiled in delight. (*note from Tris – I don’t do push-ups in bars – ever – let alone ‘flex’ ugh! – but carry on Greg :) )

This is when I got very upset.  I thought the bastards at the bar had given me dirty tap water in place of my special ‘Patron’ water.  I quickly felt better again when I got my tab and saw my bill.  THIS WATER WAS SUPER EXPENSIVE!  Over $70 for just a few Dixie cups worth.  Not sure what happened next, but I do remember saying goodbye to the guys and walking down several halls at the hotel looking for my room.  I then woke up with a half eaten ice cream bar smeared on my face and shirt…and even some got down to my feet somehow.

The next I ran into a few of the guys who were in the Fred Astaire dance contest and they smiled and waved.  One even winked.  I even heard them talking about how they loved Tristan and Sam’s English accents.  Nice guys I guess.  Not sure where I was going with this, but we had a great time.

I really look forward to bringing you all some articles on fat loss, super secret motivational tactics and just good ‘ole rants on why most personal trainers at big box gyms are about as educated as a juicehead on the Jersey Shore.

Helping Others Shows Real Character...

Helping Others Shows Real Character...

Some people understand life better, and they call some of these people “retarded”…

At the Seattle Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard dash.

At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish and win. All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy cry.

They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back….every one of them. One girl with Down’s Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said, “This will make it better.”

Then all nine linked arms and walked together to the finish line.

Everyone in the stadium stood. The cheering went on for several minutes.

People who were there are still telling the story. Why?

Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters in this life is helping  others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.

“A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.”
